Lunar New Year Dinner

This Year for Lunar New Year my friends and I hosted a LNY themed dinner. We took the time to deliberately curate the experience from the decorations to the menu items.

For the dinner I decided to design the menu along with a small cook book zine and placemats inspired by the ones in Chinese American restaurants. Each recipe in the zine is inspired by the different foods that Chinese people eat to bring longevity and prosperity in the new year.

Good food, friendship and design

This was such a great experience! I love food and I love culture and I most especially love learning about culture through food. This project encompasses all of the above.  I'm super grateful to my friends for trusting me to design something amazing for this project. They inspire me to be a better creative! Doing this is only possible by having amazing friends who are willing to share a bit of their culture with me!
